AFTER THE HARVEST….

On an aerial job last week in the wheat belt I flew over some interesting farmland due to the recent harvests. Would love to have had more time in the area but was on a job so will have to return in the near future especially after a harvest…

QUEENSTOWN NEW ZEALAND

What a great place Queenstown is, I was lucky enough to get 6 days in Queenstown last month. I couldn’t get over the fact that it didn’t get dark until around 9:30 so it was great to be able to go out and walk around and eat late. The weather closed in for a few days but I suppose it is the land of the long white cloud.

Here is a selection of landscapes that are from a few aerial shoots that I have been on in the last few months. Some are from the Goldfields area and some are not far from Kwinana. I love the rich textures and colours that are either man made or by nature.

Storm Front – Southwest Highway

When I was driving down to Albany another heavy front was passing over one side of the road and on the other the sun was still shinning and it gave the silos very surreal lighting, they look like tin soldiers guarding the fields.

CARNAC ISLAND

Carnac Island is a nature reserve off Fremantle, it is between Garden and Rottnest Islands and is home to Australian Sea Lions and sea birds. Thanks to Mark for organising the trip and it was great to catch up with all the other photags.

Its a great time for driving in the country, the Canola is just beautiful and the countryside so green. I think this must be one of the best seasons in a very long time.

FORMATION FLYING

Flying along the coast from Mandurah I cam across these two planes in formation. Again lovely afternoon light and a gentle ocean. They flew right under us so it was a bit of a buzz.

Aerial Altered Landscapes

Here is a selection of altered landscapes from the air. I have flown over many places in WA but had not explored the goldfields area at all. I found the scenery amazing with salt lakes expanding across so much of the area. Some beautiful homesteads are dotted through the Goldfields and are like little oasis in the red barren landscapes. I have to say it was probably one of the coldest jobs I have done for awhile. With -2 degrees on the ground with the wind chill factor in the air and with the door off it was extremely cold.
