Another construction site shoot but this time on Garden island, always a nice drive over the causeway to HMAS Stirling. Thanks to the guys for allowing me to shoot a few fun shots….

On an aerial job last week in the wheat belt I flew over some interesting farmland due to the recent harvests. Would love to have had more time in the area but was on a job so will have to return in the near future especially after a harvest…

Yes you’ll have to come out when we are seeding , thats done with GPS as well. I’ll let you know when its happening, be some time in June.
I knew that you would know the answer…GPS…thats why the lines are so straight….I will have to come out next year and see them in action, I think it would be very interesting…
Could be any reason Peta, maybe someone just got bored so turned around to go the other way
. If there are 2 headers working together then when they have to unload a full bin they have to swap rows so one machine will do a loop Those tracks in number 4 are chaser bin tracks. The chaser bin and tractor go out into the paddock and unload the harvester on the move then go back to where the truck is so their tracks go everywhere but you can see they link up to a main track heading into the bottom RH corner, thats the track back to the trucks. The straight line tracks are auto steering with GPS. if they don’t have machines with auto steering then they generally go around and around the paddock in ever decreasing circles. Now , that should really confuse you. !!
Thanks Merv, ok guess your invited then……
You can answer a question om harvesting….why is it that they go up and down the fields in straight lines then do a couple of turns in the middle and then they go straight again…
Love these Peta, they are great. Next time you go out to get these I’m coming too.

Stuart - Nice work, Peta. I bet your subjects loved posing for the “Boofy Blokes on Dunnies” set piece…
